The mission of Unlikely project is to give a voice and a platform to those whose creativity often goes unnoticed or undervalued. We believe that every artist, regardless of their style, background, or experience, deserves the opportunity to express themselves and be seen.
In Venice, a city with immense potential for embracing and promoting contemporary art, we see a growing need to support creatives who struggle to find opportunities for development. The preservation-focused policies of the government often hinder progress, aiming to turn Venice into a museum rather than allowing it to thrive as a living city. However, we believe Venice’s historical context as a city of art and carnival can be used as a foundation to move forward, creating a vibrant and contemporary cultural scene that embraces innovation and diversity.

Unlikely project encompasses a variety of initiatives aimed at supporting and showcasing our artists. We are building a database of in-store designers and collaborators while organizing pop-up events, fashion shows, parties, and exhibitions in Venice.
Although we currently lack permanent funding or a fixed location, our ultimate goal is to establish a permanent cultural space in Venice that will be open to all. For now, our focus is on creating dynamic events that mix different art forms in one setting, keeping people entertained while providing artists with diverse platforms to express themselves.

This project is deeply personal to me because it reflects my journey and aspirations over the past five years, ever since I moved to Venice. I’ve felt the lack of opportunities for personal and professional growth here, not just for myself but also for the creatives, artists, and LGBTQ+ individuals I’ve met. There’s a shared need for more development, more events, and more energy — for life itself.
Unlikely project is my way of bringing that life into Venice. As an artist, I know how challenging it can be to promote your work, and I believe that having a community that encourages and supports creatives with unconventional visions can make all the difference.
My experiences studying in Bristol, England, showed me the transformative power of such communities, and I want to bring that energy and inspiration to Venice.
